TOM INGRAM EXTENDS TEAM VERTU STAY WITH NEW MULTI-YEAR AGREEMENT
Double British Touring Car Champion Tom Ingram will remain part of the Team VERTU line-up for at least the next three seasons after agreeing a new extended deal that will run until the end of the 2029 season.
Ingram joined forces with the EXCELR8-run team ahead of the 2021 campaign and has cemented his position amongst the most successful drivers in series history over the course of the last six seasons.
Having secured a first win for the team at Snetterton in 2021, Ingram went on to finish fourth in the standings in his first year at the wheel of the Hyundai i30 Fastback N realising a life-long dream twelve months later when he became BTCC champion for the first time.
Following two seasons as runner-up, Ingram then reclaimed the title in 2025 during a season in which he also helped Team VERTU to secure the Manufacturers’/Constructors’ title.
Ingram’s extended deal comes on the back of EXCELR8 extending its title partnership agreement with award-winning automotive retailer Vertu, which was recently named as Automotive Retailer of the Year for the second successive year at the Autotrader Retailer Awards.
The 33-year-old – who has scored 29 wins and 84 podiums during his time with the team to date – will seek to join a select list of drivers to win three BTCC titles when the 2027 season gets underway at Donington Park in April.
Ingram will compete alongside the BTCC’s youngest ever full-time driver in the shape of Noah Young, with the other two members of the driver line-up to be confirmed in due course.
Tom Ingram, #80 Hyundai i30 Fastback N, said: “It goes without saying that I’m delighted to extend my deal with Team VERTU to at least the end of the 2029 season as this team feels like home and there is nowhere else, I’d rather be.
“When I first signed with EXCELR8, this was a team that was still the new kid on the block with lofty ambitions of making it to the top, but I knew there was the chance to do something special.
“Over the last six seasons, we have shared so many highlights – from the first win at Snetterton through to twice lifting the title at Brands Hatch – and I’m hugely excited to see what we can achieve together over the next three seasons.
“Reclaiming the title next season is the obvious target, and everyone involved in the team is fully focused on making sure that we are in the best possible position to do that next season.”
Justina Williams, EXCELR8 Team Owner, said: “Tom’s record in the BTCC speaks for itself and we’re delighted to be able to confirm him as part of our driver line-up for at least three more seasons.
“From the moment he first got behind the wheel of the Hyundai, Tom has become a crucial part of the EXCELR8 story and his drive and desire to succeed has been reflected in the results we have secured together over the past six seasons.
“I have no doubt there will be plenty more silverware to come and we’re all working hard to challenge for title number three in 2027.”
