FastTrack allows you to take the first step that will lead you from karting towards a real race-track through a structured racing driver development programme created by TeamSport Karting and EXCELR8 Motorsport.
Being the fastest driver isn't enough. It's about discovering those with the passion, commitment and willingness to learn what it takes to progress through the motorsport ladder.
You'll receive expert coaching, professional feedback, and invaluable race experience alongside the opportunity to develop your off-track skills across five exhilarating stages. FastTrack aims to prepare aspiring racing drivers for the next level of motorsport.

FiveStages - Winner Takes All
Stage 1
This is not a traditional knockout competition. Stage 1 focuses on learning, developing and preparing yourself for the challenges that lay ahead. TeamSport Karting venues across the UK host the competition, the first stage combines track time, media, and fitness training under the supervision of professional coaches who will help the competitors improve.
Stage 1 helps you understand exactly what the Assessors will be looking for as the competition progresses. At this stage, the aim is to tell you what you must do to win the competition!
Most importantly, it isn't about being the fastest driver, the best in front of the camera, or being an Olympic athlete. This stage is designed to help every entrant improve, build confidence, and maximise their potential before moving into the assessment stages.

Stage 2
TeamSport Karting venues across the UK plays host to Stage 2 events.
Stage 2 is the first formal assessment stage, during which you will be required to put into practice your learnings from Stage 1. The assessment is carried out using a balanced score card. This means that no element is more important than the other. You will be evaluated on your driving, fitness, and communication skills alongside your willingness to engage with the competition. The emphasis will be on improvement and development rather than outright performance.
At the end of Stage 2, the TeamSport Karting FastTrack Assessors will decide which entrants will move forward to Stage 3, and you will be informed whether you have been successful soon after completion of the stage.

Stage 3
Once again, this stage takes place at TeamSport Karting venues across the UK. However, this is when we start to turn up the heat. Entrants must put their learning into practice, it includes on-track driving assessments during which you will take part in competitive races. However, you will also be assessed on your fitness and communication skills.
At this stage, Assessors will look for a combination of outright performance and improvement over the earlier stages. Once again, assessors will use a balanced scorecard and evaluate the competitors across all three key disciplines.
At the end of Stage 3, Assessors will decide which select drivers will move forward to the exclusive Stage 4. You will be informed whether you have been successful soon after the completion of Stage 3.

Stage 4
The successful drivers from Stage 3 progress to an outdoor karting event in which they will battle for a place in the Grand Final. This stage combines on-track tests, racing, fitness assessments, media skill test, and personal development to identify the eight finalists.
The assessors' approach remains the same, they will use a balanced scorecard system with no one element being of overriding importance. This means that competitors must show performance and development in all areas. We are not looking for the fastest driver but for the competitors who have the best chance of becoming professional racing drivers.
The finalists will be advised of their success soon after the completion of Stage 4.

Stage 5
During the final, the eight selected drivers will experience the thrill of driving an EXCELR8 Motorsport Cooper Class MINI CHALLENGE race car at a UK race track; the same track the winner will race at in the 2027 season.
Following professional instruction and final media and fitness assessments, one winner will be crowned the first TeamSport Karting FastTrack winner!

What is TeamSport Karting FastTrack?
TeamSport Karting FastTrack is the driver development competition created by TeamSport Karting and EXCELR8 Motorsport to identify and develop aspiring racing drivers.
Competitors are assessed on driving ability, fitness, communication skills, attitude and overall potential across five stages with the winner earning a fully funded season in the 2027 MINI CHALLENGE Trophy with EXCELR8 Motorsport.
Do I need a driving licence to enter TeamSport Karting FastTrack?
All entrants must hold a full valid UK driving licence or a provisional licence at the time of entering but must have a full valid UK driving licence prior to the on-track activity at Stage 5, the final.
Unlike a standard TeamSport Karting session, holding a valid UK driving licence is a mandatory eligibility requirement for this competition.
Can I enter if I already hold a race licence?
The competition is designed to identify and develop new motorsport talent. You cannot enter if you currently hold any of the following licences: Kart National A Licence, Kart International B Licence, Kart International A Licence, ARDS Licence.

Is there a minimum/maximum height and weight requirement?
Yes, the maximum height is 6'4" and the maximum weight is 18 stone.
How old do I need to be to enter TeamSport Karting FastTrack?
You must be 17 years or older to enter the TeamSport Karting FastTrack competition.
Is this simply a fastest lap competition?
The TeamSport Karting FastTrack competition is based on a balanced assessment which considers driving ability, fitness, communication skills, personal development, and overall potential. Fastest laps and race results do not determine whether you progress to the next stage.
How many stages are there?
The competition consists of five stages: Stage 1 - Your Journey Begins, Stage 2 - Develop, Stage 3 - Perform, Stage 4 - Progress, Stage 5 - The Final.
Successful competitors will be invited to progress through each stage.
Am I guaranteed to progress to Stage 2?
Even though Stage 1 is all about learning how to progress to the next stage, progression is at the discretion of the TeamSport Karting FastTrack Assessors.
What time should I arrive?
Please arrive 40 minutes to 1 hour before your scheduled session. This allows time for registration, racewear collection and the mandatory safety and event briefing. Arriving late may result in you being unable to participate.
What should I wear?
We advise that you wear comfortable clothing that is suitable for karting and light physical activity. You must wear flat, enclosed shoes (e.g. trainers). You cannot ear open-toed shoes, sandals, Crocs, heels and wedges.
What race equipment is provided?
Race suits, helmets, and gloves are provided. Balaclavas are mandatory and can be purchased on the day - a disposable balaclava for £1 or a reusable cotton balaclava for £3.99.
Competitors may also use their own approved racewear or full-face helmet, subject to approval by TeamSport Karting staff.
What happens during Stage 1?
Stage 1 is designed to introduce you to the competition and help you understand what the assessors are looking for. Activities include:
- Event and safety briefing
- 2 x 15 min TeamSport Karting On Track sessions
- Driver Coaching
- Fitness Activities
- Media Activities
What do I need to bring?
Please bring:

- Your enthusiasm!
Any additional requirements will be included in your joining instructions before the event.
Can friends and family come and watch?
Yes, friends and family are more than welcome to attend throughout the day and watch from the designated viewing areas.
Is food and drink available?
Yes, TeamSport Karting venues offer a range of hot food, snacks and drinks throughout the day, with café and licensed bar facilities available for spectators and competitors once their activities have concluded.
Outside food and drink is generally not permitted unless required for medical or dietary reasons.
Is parking available?
Most TeamSport Karting venues provide free parking. Venue-specific information will be included in your joining instructions before your event.
What happens if I'm late?
We cannot delay the activities. If you arrive late, you might miss the safety and event briefing, or other assessments, and you may be unable to participate.
Can I withdraw from the competition?
Yes. You may withdraw at any time. Entry fees are non-refundable except where the competition is cancelled in its entirety in accordance with the Competition Terms and Conditions.
What if I have a medical condition?
Entrants should be physically fit to participate in all elements of the competition. If you have a medical condition that may affect your participation, please contact the organisers before your event.
What does the winner receive?
The winner receives a season in the Cooper Class of the 2027 MINI CHALLENGE Trophy with EXCELR8 Motorsport, together with the additional items included within the advertised prize package.
How is the TeamSport Karting FastTrack Winner decided?
This is a judged competition. TeamSport Karting Assessors will grade applicants throughout the competition stages based on driving ability, fitness, communication skills, attitude and overall potential, fairly graded using a balanced scorecard.
This isn't about being the fastest driver. It's about discovering a competitor with the passion, commitment and willingness to learn what it takes to progress up the motorsport ladder.
Are travel and accommodation included?
Unless specifically stated within the advertised prize, competitors are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, meals and personal expenses.
What if there are fewer entries than expected?
The advertised prize is based on the minimum number of entries stated within the Competition Terms and Conditions. If fewer eligible entries are received, the organisers reserve the right to amend the prize in accordance with those Terms and Conditions.
Will photography and filming take place?
Photography and filming will take place throughout the competition for promotional purposes in accordance with the Competition Terms and Conditions.
However, we encourage you to take your own photos and videos as this is part of the assessment, so post as much as you can on social media.
