Round 17 of the 2026 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship saw NAPA Racing UK’s Ash Sutton continue his charge at the top of the standings, as the four-time champion secured his seventh race win of the season at Knockhill. Starting from fourth on the grid, Sutton quickly dispatched Gordon Shedden and Adam Morgan before setting his sights on teammate-turned-rival Daniel Rowbottom at the front.
Rowbottom produced an impressive drive to lead the early stages in the Cataclean Plato Racing Mercedes A35 Saloon, despite running minimal boost and the harder Goodyear tyre compound. However, Sutton eventually made his move at the final hairpin, slicing down the inside to take the lead and never looking back.
Behind them, it was a race to forget for Sutton’s main title rival Tom Ingram. The Team VERTU driver suffered a power problem from the start before contact with Shedden on the opening lap caused radiator damage and forced him into the pits. Local favourite Aiden Moffat was also an early retirement after becoming caught up in a separate incident.
Two Safety Car periods interrupted the race, with the second leaving the field with just one final lap to settle the result. Sutton cruised to victory, while Rowbottom held off Ricky Collard to secure second and another strong podium for Team VERTU.
Mikey Doble delivered a strong performance to finish fourth, while Adam Morgan made it another double celebration for Cataclean Plato Racing with fifth, again managing the harder tyre and minimal boost.
Charles Rainford was one of the stars of the race, charging from 21st on the grid to finish sixth for WSR after a difficult opening race. Gordon Shedden held on for seventh ahead of fellow Scot Dexter Patterson, while NAPA Racing UK completed the top ten with Dan Cammish, Sam Osborne and Lewis Selby finishing ninth, tenth and eleventh respectively.
