Third Millennium bets on Ronan Pearson for success in 2023

Third Millennium is pleased to announce a new and exciting partnership with rising Scottish star Ronan Pearson as he prepares to make his debut in the 2023 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship.

The 21-year-old from Fife was a multiple race-winner in the highly competitive MINI CHALLENGE last season, and a championship contender from the first meeting of the year at Donington Park right through to the season finale at Brands Hatch.

Part of the EXCELR8 Motorsport outfit that Third Millennium has partnered with since 2019, Ronan was set to return to the MINI CHALLENGE this year in a bid to fight for the championship title, whilst also taking up a new role with EXCELR8’s title-winning British Touring Car Championship team.

However, in a dramatic twist, Ronan elected to bring forward his plans to graduate into Britain’s premier racing series, having struck a deal that will see him complete EXCELR8’s four-strong BTCC line-up for the year ahead.

The talented youngster will team up with defending champion Tom Ingram, experienced touring car racer Tom Chilton and fellow rookie Nick Halstead at the wheel of a Hyundai i30 N Fastback for his debut campaign, which will get underway at Donington Park in late April.

Ronan will be eligible for the Jack Sears Trophy, which is open to drivers who have yet to score an overall BTCC podium finish.

Peter Jones, Third Millennium Managing Director, said:

“2022 was our fourth season in partnership with EXCELR8 Motorsport in the BTCC. Through that, I was fortunate enough to spend some time in the MINI CHALLENGE paddock, and found a race series as thrilling as the BTCC!

“Amongst the MINI drivers, Ronan really came to my attention at Knockhill where, had it not for a safety car, he may well have won all three races. Getting to know Ronan, I soon realised that he had the qualities needed to achieve his ambition of a seat in the BTCC and we’re delighted to join forces with him as he now realises his dream of joining the touring car grid.”

Justina Williams, EXCELR8 Motorsport Team Owner, said:

“Third Millennium has been a valued partner of our BTCC programme from the very start, and we’re delighted to now expand our relationship with the to support Ronan as he prepares to make his touring car debut.

“On the back of a hugely impressive season last year in the MINI CHALLENGE, we have high hopes for Ronan in 2023 and are confident that he has the talent required to make an impression on the BTCC grid.

“It’s fantastic to see Third Millennium supporting young talent in this way, and I’m sure this will prove to be a hugely successful partnership.”

Ronan Pearson, EXCELR8 Motorsport BTCC Driver said:

“I’m absolutely delighted to welcome Third Millennium onboard for what promises to be the biggest season of my career so far.

“To welcome an existing team sponsor onboard in this way is something I’m very proud of as not only do I have the support of the whole EXCELR8 Motorsport squad, but also some of its long-standing partners too. It’s a moment where I realise how far I’ve come, and I can’t thank Third Millennium enough for putting their faith in me.”
