RACE FANS INVITED TO HELP LAUNCH CRAZY CART BTCC LIVERY AT DONINGTON EVENT

RACE FANS INVITED TO HELP LAUNCH CRAZY CART BTCC LIVERY AT DONINGTON EVENT

Race fans will be able to celebrate touring car racing old and new when the covers come off Nick Halstead’s livery for the 2024 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season this weekend at Donington Park!

Nick embarks on his second full season in Britain’s premier racing series having re-signed with the EXCELR8-run Team Bristol Street Motors outfit, with his programme this year supported by Razor – the driving force behind the Crazy Carts that the former British GT race winner introduced to the paddock last season.

The eye-catching livery on Nick’s Hyundai i30 Fastback N – dubbed the Crazy Cart XXXL – will break cover for the first time on Saturday 30 March during the second day of Donington Park’s Easter Weekend race meeting, which includes track action from touring cars spanning at least 40 years.

The headline act on the circuit will be a race featuring iconic cars from the legendary Super Touring-era of the 1990s, with the likes of the Mini Se7en Challenge and Britcar Trophy also in action.

In the paddock however, Nick’s livery will be revealed as part of a special event presented by ITV commentator Paul O’Neill, adding an extra element of entertainment for fans and the opportunity to get up close to the Crazy Cart XXXL when its new look is revealed.

Donington Park was the scene of Nick’s best result of the 2023 campaign, with a seventh- place finish on the opening weekend of the year, and is the venue where his 2024 season will kick off in late April.

“I’m hugely excited to share our plans for the launch of the Crazy Cart XXXL livery for the 2024 season,” Nick, known to race fans as Mr Crazy Cart, said. “It’s certainly a colour scheme that is going to stand out on track, and I can’t wait to show it off to race fans coming along to the Donington Park meeting.

“As well as the touring car, Razor will be bringing along a number of the new Crazy Cart XLs that we’ll be racing at BTCC events this season.

“With several former BTCC racers involved in the Super Touring series, we’re hoping to get them along to join me for some Q&A sessions as we kick off the second year of the Crazy Cart Championship, and it promises to be a great way to kick off my 2024 programme.”
