NATHAN EDWARDS TARGETS TOP STEP WITH EXCELR8

NATHAN EDWARDS TARGETS TOP STEP WITH EXCELR8

Nathan Edwards has his sights firmly fixed on the top step of the podium after confirming his return to the Vertu Motors MINI CHALLENGE Trophy for a third full season.

Edwards will continue with the same EXCELR8 team that he rejoined mid-way through the 2022 season, having initially made his series debut with the Suffolk-based squad back in 2020.

The decision to return to EXCELR8 allowed Edwards to show his pace on track with a number of impressive results in the final stages of last year, with the former Fiesta and Clio Cup racer scoring seven top ten finishes in the final eight races to climb up the championship standings.

The Brands Hatch finale in particular marked Edwards out as one to watch, as he qualified on the second row of the grid and then stormed to a double podium finish in tricky wet conditions.

Having retained the support of a number of key commercial partners over the winer, Edwards now heads into 2023 looking to maintain the strong form displayed in the latter past of last season with the ultimate goal of pushing for race wins.

The new MINI CHALLENGE Trophy season kicks off on Easter weekend at Brands Hatch.

Nathan Edwards, EXCELR8 Driver, said:

“After rejoining EXCELR8 halfway through 2022, it was plain to see the upwards trend in results – which culminated in a double podium at Brands Hatch. The aim for this season is to continue on that same trajectory, to score more podiums and to get onto the top step.

“Working with EXCELR8 has been fantastic and I’m full of confidence that they will be able to help me achieve my goals not only this season but into the future.

“We’ve worked hard away from the track to make this season happen and I’m determined to repay the faith of my loyal partners Intercleanse, Shoreham Vehicle Auctions and WP Commercials.”

Justina Williams, EXCELR8 Team Owner, said:

“When Nathan rejoined the team last year, we knew we were getting a driver who had the potential to run at the front of the Cooper field, as he then went on to show at Brands Hatch.

“Having ended 2022 in such strong fashion, we have high hopes for Nathan for the season ahead and are confident that it won’t be long until we see him on the top step of the podium.”
