KATIA LOGGIE JOINS EXCELR8 DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

KATIA LOGGIE JOINS EXCELR8 DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

Youngster Katia Loggie has been given a boost ahead of the second season of her racing career after inking a driver development deal with the EXCELR8 Motorsport team!

The Scottish teenager embarks on her graduate campaign in the Vertu MINI CHALLENGE Trophy this season with the multiple title winners, having taken her first steps into competitive racing twelve months ago.

Despite her lack of experience compared to her rivals, Katia showed noticeable improvements in both her race craft and speed over the year and has been rewarded for her efforts with a role as one of three Academy Drivers for the year ahead.

The new role will provide Katia with the opportunity to gain invaluable knowledge from working at close quarters with EXCELR8’s British Touring Car Championship team, which won the title with Tom Ingram in 2022.

Katia’s links to the BTCC team will also be reflected in the livery on her Saltire Energy-backed MINI Cooper, which will replicate the colour scheme being used this season on the touring car programme.

Katia Loggie said:

“I’m delighted to launch my car, which showcases our sponsors and supporters, and to confirm my role as an Academy Driver with EXCELR8 this season.

“Racing with the same, eye-catching car livery as the Team Bristol Street Motors BTCC outfit, alongside my sponsor Saltire Energy, makes me incredibly proud and I’m excited to start my second season as part of the MINI CHALLENGE.

“I can’t wait to begin my Graduate campaign and will be working hard to secure improved results in 2024.”

Justina Williams, EXCELR8 Team Owner, said:

“We were very impressed with the way that Katia got her head down and focused on learning as much as possible during her rookie season. Over a relatively short space of time, she made huge strides forward in a highly-competitive field and we are looking forward to further improvements this year.

“Bringing her into the fold as the first female member of our Driver Academy will help to accelerate her racing education and I’m sure it is an opportunity she will grasp with both hands.”
