EXCELR8 EXTENDS TITLE-WINNING BTCC PARTNERSHIP WITH VERTU THROUGH TO 2029
Award-winning automotive retailer Vertu has extended its partnership with title-winning BTCC team EXCELR8 through to the end of the 2029 season, underlining its long-term commitment to one of the most successful teams in recent series history.
Vertu, which recently retained the title of Retailer of the Year at the Autotrader Retailer Awards, has worked with the Droitwich-based team since 2021, and took up the role of title sponsor twelve months later.
A stunning campaign saw the team secure the 2022 title thanks to Tom Ingram, and it then emerged on top in Britain’s premier racing series again in 2025.
Ingram lifted the Drivers’ Championship for a second time, whilst Team VERTU completed a title treble by securing both the Teams’ Championship and the Manufacturers’/Constructors’ Championship.
Ahead of the 2027 season, the current agreement between Vertu and EXCELR8 has been further extended until at least the conclusion of the 2029 campaign, cementing the partnership as one of the longest-running and most successful commercial relationships in the BTCC paddock.
Team VERTU will continue to field a four-car programme in the BTCC next season and has already confirmed the signing of teenage racer Noah Young to compete alongside Ingram, who will be looking to reclaim the title having finished the 2026 season as runner-up.
The remaining two drivers in the line-up will be confirmed in due course ahead of the campaign getting underway at Donington Park in April.
Justina Williams, EXCELR8 Team Owner, said:
“We’re hugely proud of the strength of our relationship with Vertu, and to be able to confirm an extension to cover the next three seasons in the BTCC.
“Vertu has played a major role in the success we’ve enjoyed in recent years, helping us build a championship-winning programme that has delivered race victories, multiple titles and consistent on-track success.
“The security of knowing we can count on Vertu’s support through to at least the end of 2029 allows us to focus on long-term planning, and we’re looking forward to challenging for more titles alongside Vertu in the years to come.”
Robert Forrester, Chief Executive of Vertu, said:
“Our partnership with EXCELR8 has delivered outstanding results both on and off the track, and has been a platform for building awareness of the Vertu brand whilst also allowing us to engage with audiences throughout the UK
“Since first joining forces with the team, we have enjoyed championship success, significant increases in brand awareness and countless opportunities to showcase the strength of the Vertu brand to millions of motorsport followers.
“This partnership works so well because of the shared drive and desire to constantly improve in order to maintain the highest levels of performance and remain at the very top.
“Extending our commitment through to the end of 2029 will allow us to build on everything we have achieved together so far, and we look forward to challenging for more success in the seasons ahead.”
