BRISTOL STREET MOTORS with EXCELR8 and Draper Tools partnership to continue for 2024 season

BRISTOL STREET MOTORS with EXCELR8 and Draper Tools partnership to continue for 2024 season

BRISTOL STREET MOTORS with EXCELR8 can today announce that its long-standing partnership with Draper Tools will extend into the 2024 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season.

The deal will see Draper Tools backing the title-winning team for the sixth year running, a period almost unrivalled in the BTCC paddock.

The family-owned tool firm has been a key part of BRISTOL STREET MOTORS with EXCELR8’s BTCC programme since 2019, when the team made its debut in Britain’s premier racing series.

The team has enjoyed huge success since it joined the grid, having achieved no fewer than 15 race wins and 43 podiums in the seasons that have followed, with Tom Ingram lifting the coveted Drivers’ title in 2022.

The team is confident that both chassis and engine developments being undertaken over the winter alongside engine partners Swindon Powertrain will result in a number of upgrades to help the team challenge for championship honours again in 2024.

As has been the case since the partnership began, Draper Tools will play a key role in BRISTOL STREET MOTORS with EXCELR8’s bid for success, with the team making use of Draper’s extensive product range to prepare and run the touring car programme both at the workshop and trackside at each of the ten race meetings.

In addition to each of BRISTOL STREET MOTORS with EXCELR8’s four cars featuring the Draper Tools logo, the company will have a presence at a number of race weekends, including its home circuit of Thruxton, where motorsport fans have the opportunity to win prizes and test out their mechanic skills.

The 2024 BTCC season kicks off at Donington Park in late April.

Justina Williams, BRISTOL STREET MOTORS with EXCELR8 Team Owner, said:
“Draper Tools have been a valuable partner from the moment we joined the BTCC, and have been a constant presence in recent years as we have developed the Hyundai and grown from being the new kids on the block into a team capable of winning the title.

“In a high-pressure environment like the BTCC, having the correct equipment is key and that goes far beyond simply giving the drivers the car they need to do the job on track.

“Draper Tools continue to provide our engineering team and mechanics with the tools they need to ensure that the Hyundais are in the best shape possible every time they leave the garage, and it is fantastic to go into 2024 knowing that we can once again count on their support.”

Sarah Hartland, Head of Marketing at Draper Tools said:
“We’re delighted to confirm our continuing affiliation with the EXCELR8 team. It’s such a supportive, collaborative partnership and we’ve genuinely loved working with the whole team – they really do work incredibly hard, both on track and behind the scenes.

“Not only has working with EXCELR8 been great fun, but it’s been so beneficial for us as a brand. The race weekends are especially important to us, we get the chance to interact with thousands of motorsport fans and see our tools put to good use in the team garages.

“We’re incredibly grateful for all the support and opportunities from the EXCELR8 team and the whole BTCC community in the last few years. We can’t wait to see what the 2024 season has in store.”
