RACING ROOKIE JOINS EXCELR8 FOR MINI CHALLENGE DEBUT
Adam Curtis will become the latest driver to launch his racing career in the MINI CHALLENGE after confirming an entry into the Cooper class this season.
The 43-year-old from Swansea will join forces with multiple champions EXCELR8 for his first taste of competition, and is the second driver named as part of the team’s multi-car entry into the class for the upcoming campaign after Ashley Gregory.
As a newcomer to racing, Curtis will look to benefit from EXCELR8’s extensive experience within the MINI CHALLENGE to hit the ground running when the Cooper season gets underway at Silverstone early next month.
Alongside outings supporting the British Truck Racing Championship on ‘home soil’ at Pembrey and at Brands Hatch, Curtis will also compete on the support package to the British Touring Car Championship on four occasions during the season, which includes the special TOCA MINI Carnival event scheduled for Snetterton at May.
Curtis, who will be eligible for both the Rookie Cup and Directors Cup, will use his entry into the most competitive one-make series in the UK to promote Hoowla, the legal software platform that he founded more than a decade ago.
“I’m incredibly excited to be racing with EXCELR8 in the MINI CHALLENGE Trophy this season,” he said. “Their reputation for developing competitive drivers and running a professional programme made them the natural choice for me.
“We’ll be running a fully Hoowla-branded car to promote Hoowla Case Management, the legal software platform I founded. Motorsport and software actually share a lot in common, constant improvement, data-driven decisions and working with a great team, so it feels like a natural fit to bring the two together on track.
“I’m really looking forward to working closely with the EXCELR8 team, and pushing hard to develop throughout the season.”
Team Owner Justina Williams said she was excited to welcome Curtis into the team for his racing debut.
“We’re delighted that Adam has chosen to race with us for his first season in the MINI CHALLENGE,” she said.
“From the first moment we spoke, it was clear to see how enthusiastic he was about the opportunity to join the grid, and we look forward to helping him develop his skills over the course of the season.”
