TCR is a motorsport concept launched in 2015 by WSC Ltd. that has revolutionised Touring Car competition, as it has been approved and adopted by many Championships and Series all over the world, becoming the perfect platform for customer racing.
The TCR concept is the brainchild of Marcello Lotti, who wanted to recreate the ‘pyramid’ of Touring Car racing seen in the 1990s and 2000s, allowing the same cars to compete in National, Regional, International and Endurance championships around the world.
The strictly controlled TCR Technical Regulations provide close and exciting racing while keeping the running costs under control. The figures speak for themselves – after only three years, there are more than 600 TCR cars from 11 different brands competing in over 30 TCR championships globally.
Europe is one of the latest additions to the TCR Series, acting as a support category to the WTCR and GT Open series during its maiden season in 2018.
The championship consists of rounds at the finest European circuits, including Hungaroring, Zandvoort, Spa, Red Bull Ring, Oschersleben, Barcelona and Monza.
